Hi, I’m Brittany Caruso!
As a Postpartum Doula, I am passionate about walking families through the earliest days with their new baby, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all family members. My background as a Project Manager translates to helping you establish systems and schedules to keep your household running smoothly, even through the chaotic sleep deprivation that often comes with a newborn. I'll even bring my label maker! I wear many hats as a doula, but am primarily there to be your sounding board, your live Google search, your self-care advocate, food-prepper, laundry-folder, dog-walker, extraordinaire. And I will likely do it all while wearing your baby so you can get some much needed rest :)
As a bonus, I am also a photographer! I get immense joy in capturing those sweet baby snuggles, quiet feeding sessions, fur baby curiosity and more and can do so while supporting you as your doula in the comfort of your home. I will never judge the state of your house or when you last showered or did laundry. Instead, I will help you find the beauty in it all so you can look back and fondly remember easing into this new stage of your life.
I believe that all families deserve reliable, trustworthy support and care, especially in the early and unfamiliar days of parenthood. If you or someone you know are interested in working with me, I would be honored to discuss how I can support your family!
What makes me different?
“Brittany was the person our family needed to feel comfortable stepping into the world of childcare. She’s kind, creative, caring, and was always looking for new ways to help our daughter grow. She has such a natural way of connecting with babies and fostering a safe a safe environment for them to thrive. We can’t imagine a better childcare experience. If you’re scared, nervous, or on the fence, Britt is the person you need.”
I have an uncanny ability to gain the trust of babies and young children within minutes of meeting them, and often hear, “Wow, my kid doesn’t smile at anyone!” after being the recipient of a big gummy grin. I have been caring for little ones since I was seven (yes, really; I am the oldest of a total of 19 grandkids!), so I have a LOT of experience! As a mom, I love to talk to other parents about their experiences with their kids, both to share wins and to learn from losses. This allows me to be more creative in supporting families overall as effectively as possible.
I decided to follow the path to become a Postpartum Doula through DONA International as a way to have the biggest impact, helping families navigate the ups and downs of postpartum life. By offering secondary services for nursery organization and design, as well as photography, I can further help families feel spatially ready to care for their babies the moment they arrive at home, and also capture those beautiful first moments as a new family through photographs.
I have a special spot in my heart for LGBTQIA+ families. (My wife and I have been together for over 9 years, and we have a 2 year old daughter!) However, no matter who makes up your family, I promise to give each person in it the same respect, dedication and care that I would to each and every one of my clients.
I am thrilled to share what I love most with you and your family! I can’t wait to hear from you.
